I work electronically, using Microsoft Word’s “Track Changes” tool. This tool allows you to see every keystroke I make during corrections so that you can automatically accept or reject the whole document or each individual change with a simple click. Edited drafts will show deleted text in red with a line through it, added text in blue and bolded and formatting changes in green. A pink line in the left margin alerts you to any line that has sustained a change.
Completed work is sent in two drafts, the “Corrected” draft and the “Clean” draft. Most clients prefer to work with the Clean draft, but the Corrected draft is always sent so that you have a record of what changes were made.
